How rebranding my business has helped rebrand me
As many of you know I have been in the midst of operation rebrand for the last 5 or 6 weeks now. As someone with no real experience of marketing (I have studied it but never actually done it). Your brand is what people say when you aren't in the room. In rebranding my coaching brand I realised it was time to rebrand my personal brand as well.
When I started up my coaching business I was pretty naive about the importance of marketing and image. I thought that if I was good enough and I got results it would be easy to get clients. This is partly true but realistically to get your ideal clients you need to appeal to them and if you are a bit all over the place and lack consistency on social media it is much harder to reach the people you are trying to reach.
During my rebrand I have had professional photos done, worked with a graphic designer, a web designer, my business coach, a copywriter and a social media expert. That is a lot of people! and the one thing that came through - they wanted to know all about me and why I am doing what I am doing. There is no smoke and mirrors here, what you see is a slicker presentation of my business which is more accessible for my clients.
At the same time as my business rebrand I have been creating content for a masterclass on personal branding for my Facebook group. During this process I have been reflecting on my personal brand and who I am. I thought I was pretty clear on this but a lot has happened in the last 6 months - I have had another baby and I have started my own business. The activities that I am getting people to do tomorrow I went through myself. I revisited my strengths and started to think about how I am presenting myself the whole time.
The whole thing about branding is about being consistent. There is no point doing something that isn't authentic as you will either drive yourself into the ground keeping up the charade or the mask will slip and your lies will be revealed. We can be who we want to be online and it's often hard to know what is true and what isn't. But, if you scratch the surface you can usually realise who is being honest and has integrity and who is creating a mask. The most powerful thing I would say about any sort of branding is make it personal - be the person that you want to be and stand up for that person.
Whilst re branding my business I have become clearer about who I am and who I want to serve. I am confident that when I work with clients they get great results and I truly believe that I empower women to be the best versions of themselves. I love my job and my business and am looking forward to the next stage of the journey.
